Hear Tiffany’s Story

Haunted by a past weighted with addiction and a criminal history, Tiffany was filled with hopelessness. But that changed when she came to UpRise. At UpRise, TIffany saw herself as someone with value and ability. She was surrounded by people who could see her tremendous potential. She learned to type and got her Microsoft Office certification. This Leader who had barely touched a computer before 2021 started tutoring her fellow UpRise Leaders. She started to think change was possible.

Despite Tiffany’s new credentials, getting a job was still a challenge with her criminal background. But UpRise’s community of opportunity came together to give Tiffany a chance. Tiffany wholeheartedly embraced that opportunity and now works as a Program Assistant at Belmont's School of Nursing with her very own office, a salary and full benefits. She has purchased her own car and is thriving in her new role.
